When I used to use Compiz-Fusion, I would have to enable the option "loose-binding" or the animations would be choppy. I am running KDE 4.1 now I am having the same problem with choppy animations; does anyone know of a loose-binding option built into KDE for NVIDIA cards? If it helps, I am using the PCI-E NVIDIA 8800GT.

Maybe I should rephrase my question.... The KDE 4.1 animations are choppy on my desktop (NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, 8GB RAM) but not on my laptop (NVIDIA GeForce 6100, AMD Turion64 X2, 2GB RAM)... Does anyone have any ideas?

It just so happens that Qt4, and therefor KDE4.1, have low level problems with the latest nVidia cards and drivers. I suspect it'll be a good few weeks, maybe September, before it's fixed. Here's one link that provides more info -> http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=115916
