Weird APM Suspend Issue

I've got Arch 0.6 installed (running custom 2.6.7 kernel) with apm set on a IBM T23. I'm also running apmd and cpudyn daemons. Now the laptop appears to  properly suspend and resume; however, when the laptop suspends, the cpu appears to get hot, and the system fan starts exhausting heat like mad...in other words, it doesn't really seem like it is suspending. I suppose I am missing something, but the at the moment I don't get it.

Hmm, does it suspend or not? Is this cpu/fan-problem the only strange thing?

Could you post the apm-section from your .config file?

(I have a T40)
