Evolution startup crash [fixed]

Main idea: I am not a Gnome user

Elaboration:
Once uppon a time I ran evolution. I liked it. A very robust application. After I installed Arch, I only used KDE components & a few others. Nothing Gnome-dependant.

The begining:
Today I told myself: what if I try evolution again, to see how it evolved.

pacman -Sy evolution
and...

Targets: libgnomeprint-2.6.1-1 gnome-common-2.4.0-3 libgnomecanvas-2.6.1.1-1
         hicolor-icon-theme-0.5-1 gnome-icon-theme-1.2.1-1
         libgnomeprintui-2.6.1-1 orbit2-2.10.1-1 libbonobo-2.6.0-1 gconf-2.6.1-1
         gnome-mime-data-2.4.1-3 gnome-vfs-2.6.1.1-1 libgnome-2.6.1.1-1
         libbonoboui-2.6.0-1 gnome-keyring-0.2.1-1 libgnomeui-2.6.1.1-1
         libsoup-1.99.26-2 gal-1.99.11-2 gail-1.6.3-1 gtkhtml-3.0.10-2
         docbook-xsl-1.65.1-1 gtk-doc-1.2-2 linc-1.1.1-1 evolution-1.4.6-2

Well.. wow.. those are maaany dependencies but.. I removed everything not necessary once, I can do it again after...

Installing went well but...

The problems:
1. small problem: the first run gave an library error (fixed by running ldconfig)
2. THE problem: the second run it gave:

(evolution:3688): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: g_object_set_valist: construct property "type" for object `ESplash' can't   be set after construction
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/home/mircea/evolution/shortcuts.xml"

(evolution:3688): libglade-WARNING **: Could not load support for `gnome': libgnome.so: cannot open shared object fi   e: No such file or directory

(evolution:3688): libglade-WARNING **: unknown widget class 'GnomeDruid'

(evolution:3688): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkLabel' to `GnomeDruid'

(evolution:3688): GnomeUI-CRITICAL **: file gnome-druid.c: line 870 (gnome_druid_set_buttons_sensitive): assertion `   NOME_IS_DRUID (druid)' failed

(evolution:3688): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: gsignal.c:1666: signal `cancel' is invalid for instance `0x8122058'

(evolution:3688): evolution-shell-CRITICAL **: file e-shell-startup-wizard.c: line 840 (e_shell_startup_wizard_creat   ): assertion `data->start != NULL' failed

Of course, consecutive runs eliminated one or two warnings, but the assertion is still there. Running with "--no-splash" didn't help.

Any ideas? Do I need to run something first before running Gnome apps? Some config utility or something?
(don't tell me "the whole Gnome" because that's not reasonable).

Lots of thanks.

Woaaa... magic... 10x
Kind of unbelievable, but who knows what the developers wanted. I find it rather... too strange!...

Lots of thanks, once again Xentac.

Comment on Evolution: it looks soooo goood, now I'm wondering wether's something left from KDE that I still need.
