I have just been amazed by this talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAsb4gtEpaw. It's full of relevance. Commenting is disabled on the video, but this seems like a good place to discuss it.
I find it weird that the speakers and attendees barely alluded to computer litteracy (maybe that's partially what Vint Cerf meant by "moral suasion"). If people were more aware of what the internet is and the part that their computer/phone/toaster plays in it, and how to control it, there would IMO be much less malware, maybe even none. Basically, what no one said, but I would have liked to hear, is, "I know what I'm doing".

I totally agree with you (tough I haven't watched the video - 1:30 is pretty long).
But to gain knowledge, people need to give energy and time. And most just don't want to do that.
