ext3 crash

Not so much as a problem but this morning system locked up.... I reset and then filesystem did check on / [nothing odd there]

After booting machine locked again.... so I shut system off completely and left it for a while

Just started system seems fine

Now just want to make sure filesystem is ok, is there any way to check partition/drive etc?

To be on the safe side

Thanks

Re: ext3 crash

Boot off a live CD, and run the fs checks from there.

So replaced ram same thing locks up

No I never thought the one minute Arch was to blame :-) time for a nice new mobo I think

Thanks

If it starts fine after being shut down for a while, I'd first check my heat sink & fan, it could be as simple as a cooling issue.

Re: ext3 crash

I think I will need to check it out....using hard drive from it in another system with no problem at all

Was running all day yesterday with no problems at all

So wanted to try out a P5Q Pro :-)

Thanks.....
