here I'm developing an updated version of pyalpm:

it uses distutils to install, so anyone is free to test it(only has a few functions though and no docstrings, they are on the way, take note that it's as near as possible to alpm so no fancy options or anything like that, when I have a place to upload stable tarballs and any stable tarball (I've applied to sourceforge) I'll post it here.
