without an error, it might help to turn EHCI Hand-Off in BIOS on. This fixed the problem for me. When this option is missing, revert back to 2.6.25 and look for a line looking like this:
EHCI Handover failed - BIOS Bug?
When a line like this exists, a BIOS update might help.
