fluxbox and gdm

Hey there

i am a fluxbox user most of the time but i like gnome and xfce4 from time to time also
i installed gnome and set up to login via gdm, only problem is that it found xfce4 and gnome as session options, but not fluxbox. i have done a good search here, but nothing i have tried has worked so far to get a menu item for flux at the gdm menu.

if some one has figgured this one out yet, please let me know, kinda step by step style if possible.

look in...

cd /etc/X11/sessions/

you should see gnome.desktop

you need to create a file called fluxbox.desktop...like this :

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Fluxbox
Exec=fluxbox
TryExec=fluxbox
# no icon yet, only the top three are currently used
Icon=
Type=Application

ok i have tried this once. and it didnt get seen. the gnome.desktop and xfce4.desktop were already there. i made one called Fluxbox.desktop but it never got picked up. one of the other threads suggested it and said to make it executable. how do i do that. what else should i try?

I just did this the other day and I found it didn't get picked up until i restarted X.

where might they be ?

incidentally, comming from a year and a half of debian, one year of mandrake and tried several other distros, i love Arch. this is the most fun i have ever had on a computer.

pacman -Ql packagename

would list all the files for the package. that would help.
