I had it working fine, I even got it to work on boot. Now I accidentally unplug my laptop, come back to find it turned off. I had noticed an update that looked like a kernel one, but didn't think anything of it. Now when I boot I get greeted by "FATAL: Module bcm43xx not found" (I also get that when I run modprobe bcm43xx). The only interface I can see under ifconfig is "lo", no eth0 or eth1, which means I can't get a wired connection either, which I don't understand at all. Anybody got any help?

Try using the b43 module.

Try using the b43 module.
Thanks, now my interface is wlan0, but that's fine and dandy. Any reason that happened though? Was it because of a kernel update? Will it happen again? Thanks a ton.

bcm43xx was mark deprecated in kernel 2.6.24 and they announce that will drop it in kernel 2.6.26.
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Alright, thanks. I'll just start using b43 then.

I have the same problem, too. And i have try to use the b43 driver but when i'm using this driver i can not scan for access points.
If i try to scan with iwlist wlan0 scanning i get this message: interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down
Is it possible that you have the same problem ??

read and see what version of firmware you need. if you use b43 module you need version 4.150.10.5. if you use b43-legacy use 3.130.20.0.
