SSL configuration for KDE?

Hi there,

Long time GNU/Linux user, first day with Arch :-) So far, I'm liking it a lot.

I'll probably come back with a few more questions soon, but for now, I'm having a bit of difficulty identifying why KMail can't verify the certificate for my mail server.

I've set it up to use TLS, but it says that the certificate isn't trusted. I've installed the ca-certificates package, though I noticed that in Konqueror, the SSL signers pane is empty. In previous distros this has always been tied to my SSL certificates (or at least I thought). I can't find any SSL paths for konqueror or KDE in my config files... can anyone help? Is there something I need to do to trust the certificates?

BTW, this is the same with both KDE and KDEmod.

You can try this in terminal update-ca-certificates

Hi, yeah I tried that thanks. And c_rehash too, which appeared to find the certificates.

I've been trying to find some documentation about how KDE uses/stores certificates (but haven't). It appears to have its own store in /usr/share/apps/kssl/ca-bundle.crt and /usr/share/config/ksscalist, which I guess is able to be added to in my ~/.kde4/share directories.

But I'm a little confused as to why Konqueror's SSL signers pane is empty, even in the presence of these. KDE seems to be accepting some SSL certificates, but not others. What's the relationship between the KDE SSL directories and /etc/ssl/certs ?

This is all rather confusing IMO :-)
