[SOLVED] Rolling Releases

Hello,

Would I be correct in saying that by running pacman -Syu my entire installation is upgraded and therefore becomes the same as the latest 2008.06 build (if not newer)?

Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Rolling Releases

Running -Syu brings in the latest packages from the repositories. The 2008.06 build is just a snapshot of the latest software at the time that cd was released.

Re: [SOLVED] Rolling Releases

Yep, the cd releases are pretty much just for installing and are snapshots of the repositories at the time they're released. I've only done pacman -Syu since I got my computer 16 months ago and there's plenty of people with installs older than that (there's a thread somewhere around where people were posting their installation dates)
