Getting bluetooth working in kde4.1

Hello guys,

I just don't know why but I can't get kdebluetooth to start.
I did:

pacman -S kdebluetooth
It installed, and than I ran it with the command kdebluetooth (this is how I did it in KDE3) but... 'Command not found'
Why ?

It looks like it isn't even installed

[wernerl@WernerPC servicetypes]$ locate kdebluetooth

Re: Getting bluetooth working in kde4.1

[joey@Kessler ~]$ pacman -Ql kdebluetooth
kdebluetooth /usr/
kdebluetooth /usr/bin/
kdebluetooth /usr/bin/kbluetooth4
kdebluetooth /usr/bin/kbluetooth4-devicemanager
kdebluetooth /usr/bin/kbluetooth4-inputwizard

Re: Getting bluetooth working in kde4.1

That works...
thanks. :-)

but I can't open the device manager.. sad

[wernerl@WernerPC ~]$ kbluetooth4-devicemanager
process 4254: arguments to dbus_message_new_method_call() were incorrect, assertion "path != NULL" failed in file dbus-message.c line 1070.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
  D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
KCrash: Application 'kbluetooth4-devicemanager' crashing...
sock_file=/home/wernerl/.kde4/socket-WernerPC/kdeinit4__0

If I run kbluetooth4 the bluetooth icon apears in the systray, but all options ar disabled except quit and about...

//edit
Plugged the bluetooth adapter into another usb port and it is working now, but it seems like my phone can't find the bluetooth adapter sad

I set mode to discoverable

On kDE3 it always worked so I guess it's not my adapter. :-)

Hmm it says it is a bug, but try running dbus-launch kbluetooth4-devicemanager and see what it is happening otherwise it might be a bug.

Re: Getting bluetooth working in kde4.1

It still doesn't work.
Any other solutions to get bluetooth working in kde4.1 ?
It doesn't have to be kbluetooth for me, if it is something that works...

Re: Getting bluetooth working in kde4.1

I've been using gnome-obex-server from the gnome-bluetooth package to receive files from my cell phone... I didn't even know there was a kdeblutooth package compatible with KDE4 until I found this post. tongue

It only saves files to the Desktop, though, and opens a separate window for each file instead of re-using the same window through the whole file transfer...
