Can't start Vmware due to xcb_lock.c:77

I have searched the forum and find a similar topic for this problem but still there is no solution.

When I try to start VMware, I got the following error message:

vmware: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed.

anybody knows how to fix this?

Thanks

Sorry that didn't help. I just Googled the exact error message, and it's apparently a pretty common occurrence. Have you done a Google search on the error message? I have to think somebody out there has something helpful to offer.

Thank dhave, I have tried with google but it didn't help. This seems to be a common problem, and there is no solution for it.:(

A workaround (which I got from these forums) is to rebuild libX11 using --without-xcb

Hasn't broken anything else that I've noticed - YET!!
