sendmail - possible to send without a domain?

Well, that's more dependent on SMTP than sendmail. I would guess that mail without a domain could be interpreted as local mail, and I'm fairly sure that any attempts to transfer the message to a foreign SMTP server would fail. This is just my speculation though.
