I saw a link to a cool looking linux DE while surfing the SomethingAwful forum: http://shostakovich.mirror.waffleimages … a80768.jpg
Can you tell me what DE this is?

i think that is gnome
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Yup its gnome (on ubuntu) with AWN, a load of applets and no panels. AWN and the extras package are both in the community repo.

Although any WM/DE could be made to look like that. It's just a wallpaper and AWN goddamn it!
EDIT: Oops, didn't see the icon there, nevertheless you can have that without gnome too..

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

Is there a how-to for Arch to install awn or is it really easy? Wait are the icons at the bottom shortcuts, or what's open?

The icons on the bottom are shortcuts (or launchers) but also open windows (past the separator)
Installing awn is pretty easy. Just a "pacman -Sy avant-window-navigator" away.
You could also try cairo-dock from AUR. You can find it here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15201

I think it's AWN, but does it matter which one it is ? Try both and see which one you like more. They're both great

Yeah docks is cool, but my experince says that having a dock in a 1024x768 resolution is just annoying.
Arch - It's something refreshing

Also try 'wbar'. It's a small groovy launcher deal similar to the one in the screenshot.

Yeah well on my PC I'll have it set to 1280X1024.
