How to build Openoffice?

I use Java 1.3 but I get errors cause of libstdc++. Java 1.4 works but I cannot build openoffice with it.
How can I solve the problem with libstdc++? I tried to symlink to existing versions but I get segfault.

Re: How to build Openoffice?

you have to patch the open office source and also copy into the open office source the necessary libstdc files.

personally after having successfully built 1.0.2 there is no advantage that i have seen to building over using the binaries. in fact with thhe patching and stuff that you have to do what results is a completely disappointing result. OO cannot be used with Mozilla, speed is not improved, and there is not way to actually make a universal install.

i spent i week building 1.0.2 and have to say i was very disappointed in the end.

Re: How to build Openoffice?

Would really appreciate to get  your patch and procedure to succesfully build OO cause I have to build a localizes version / slovenian. This is the main reason.

Gregor

Re: How to build Openoffice?

well i have not managed to build 1.1beta yet and i don't know if i will try again or not. the PKGBUILD for 1.0.2 should give you all the details you need for building 1.0.2 at least including the bison yacc.c editing you have to do, links to a pam package, and the libstdc patch and the link top the libstdc packages i copied from the xfree directories.
