Hal policy

The following message appears when I try to access my phone card. Okay I know what is it means, just dont know how to solve it. It was 'easier' on other distros. Okay, at least I found a howto. smile

Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied.

A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" member "Mount" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.Hal")

And then an another message appears:

Unable to mount location

DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply. Did not receive reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timed out expired, or the network connection was broken.

Okay fight as a 'generic user' (new to Arch), so do what is it says:
[root@shingetsutan ~]# gpasswd
Usage: gpasswd [-r|-R] group
       gpasswd [-a user] group
       gpasswd [-d user] group
gpasswd [-A user,...] [-M user,...] group
[root@shingetsutan ~]# gpasswd -a shiki mount
unknown group: mount
gpasswd: Permission denied.

So what?.. root: permission denied?.. The pc is really picking a fight.. smile
TIA everyone.

ps.: The problem izzz with the "$ mount /dev/sdb /mnt/whateveriwantz" , the mc copies, but every file is on 100% in an instant. So it copies, but I have to estimate the wait before unmount to prevent data loss. ^^

Re: Hal policy

I don't know what your Howto is, but you should probably read up on HAL:
