Hello, guys!
I'm new to Arch so sorry if I don't understand simple things immediately. I'm trying to install Compiz-Git from AUR with Yaourt. One of its dependencies is git of course. But yaourt tries to install git-1.5.6.5-1 and doesn't find the file on the server. But as I can see there is git-1.6.0-1 on the server which isn't seen by Pacman or Yaourt: http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.arc … os/x86_64/ Maybe there is an outdated entry somewhere pointing to an old file? How can I fix this?
Thanks,
PhotonX

The very worst thing you can do with free software is to download it, see that it doesn't work for some reason, leave it, and tell your friends that it doesn't work. - Tuomas Lukka

You need to update you package database. The pacman command for this is "pacman -Sy".

yaourt recommends to review/edit the PKGBUILDs. you should just do that and change the dependency to the new git version

Ah, so simple... Big thanks, this was the worm. Always forgetting such things...
@Andy: I have looked at the PKGBUILD but there was just "git" as dependency, not specifying the version.

It only depends on "git", as it should. No particular version.
It was just a -Sy problem as Allan said
pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))

Sorry, another question: When I install multiple packages via Yaourt after the first succesfully installed package it doesn't continue with the next one but tries to install the first one again. Where is the problem? I enter the package numbers with spaces inbetween like "1 3 7" as requiered.

Best to open a new thread for a new problem. Also "no-one" will look because it is marked solved.

Ok, I'll make it like this.
edit: Strange, I can't reproduce it any more. I'll ask about it if it happens again...
