I was wondering if I could just create a partition and extract an Overload .iso and install from that.
I've set up my BIOS, but it does boot USB. And for one reason or another, the only CD/DVD my DVD drive can read is the Vista Install disk.
So, would the alternate method be possible? (I've been playing with Arch in a virtual machine, but I want it on my actual computer.

2007.08 ftp-install used by Unetbootin does not work anymore (uses outdated packages.txt to fetch package list).
you could however boot with unetbootin, and proceed with "Install From Existing Linux" (as quoted above). quite painless, installed that way last week.

I had an .iso of Overlord, and used that for UNetbootin. I recieved the option of Unetbootin from the boot menu, and its started to load GRLDR, the screen flickered, and my computer restarted.
I'm going to take your advice, hokasch. I'll try with Ubuntu next, and see what I get.

Don't mean to double post. But it didn't work.
Any recommendations? I'm at my wits end with Windows.
