Which opera for qt4?

Arch i686 with testing repo.  Using latest kernel and nvidia drivers.

I have installed opera-devel-qt4 and opera-qt4 , both install fine, and launch fine, I can click on all the toolbars etc, I just can not type anything.  I can type just fine in aror-git, so qt4 isnt the problem I dont think.  Anyone else experience this issue?  If I launch with the terminal I do not see any errors.  What is the preferred package for opera with qt4?  As a side note, is flash-plugin going to work with opera ( because i see their are PKGBUILDs for flash-plugin-beta and flash-plugin-opera)

Re: Which opera for qt4?

I have a issue with opera-qt4, too, but another one.

The feeling I get is that opera using QT4 is still under development.

Re: Which opera for qt4?

hrm, i knew it was the devel, but I had hoped basic browsing was working, Ill just have to keep updating it and wait for the wrinkles to get worked out, I guess its my fault for not being developer and trying to use beta software.  I just want to use only qt4 apps and firefox isnt ready in that aspect either.  arora works fine, but doesnt support flash.  Guess its konqueror for now.

Re: Which opera for qt4?

Maybe try using a dynamically linked version.

Of opera QT4 you say? I think there's no such thing. You can see at opera's FTP.

Re: Which opera for qt4?

Just to mention this: I'm typing this answer just fine with opera-qt4. I use an updated i686 system without the testing repository and on Xmonad. Maybe try another DE/WM, I believe that's a focus problem.

Re: Which opera for qt4?

I know mine problem is related to CPU usage. Under higher loads, it happens more often. (but still I'm using opera-qt4 to type this)

Re: Which opera for qt4?

I'm pretty sure I used a shared qt4 version of earlier (devel?) opera builds. Oh well.

Nope, there has not been one yet.  There are shared GCC4-sharedqt3 builds though, that might have been what you recall.

I'm also interested in a shared QT4 opera, and have filed a bug with them.  (It does count as a bug I think, loading libs twice and no good integration because of seperate libs.)

I suggest everyone who wants it file a bug,  I don't think they will listen otherwise.

I know I'll stop using Opera once Arora and QT 4.5 are stable, unless Opera releases a shared build - heh, I'll probably use arora then anyway.
