Pacman Connection timed out

Hi, I've been a Ubuntu user for a while now, and have decided to shift over to Arch, but am having some problems with pacman.
When I run pacman -Syy it hangs for ages then eventually reports a connection time out error.
I've read few a fair bunch of thread having the same issue and have tried all sugestions, but to no luck.
My network connection is working, I know as I can ping, and I'm posting this new topic using links.
my rc.conf

eth0="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(eth0)
gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
ROUTES=(!gateway)

Thanks in advance

Re: Pacman Connection timed out

Try another mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist (first one is used)

pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))

Re: Pacman Connection timed out

I have tried the 2 Australian mirrors, and all the American ones, and none are responding.
