Wireless will not connect to the right network.

I've been trying to connect to my own wireless network but without fail it always connects to the wrong network, some randomer's unsecured one.

/etc/network.d/wlan0 is as follows:

CONNECTION="wireless"
INTERFACE=wlan0
SCAN="yes"
ESSID="netgear_router"
KEY="(removed for forum)"
IP="dhcp"
TIMEOUT=20

I try to connect with net-profiles.

Re: Wireless will not connect to the right network.

Use the IWOPTS profile option to specify your network's cell identity (usually, but not always, your AP's MAC address). See man iwconfig and the /etc/network.d/examples for more details.

Re: Wireless will not connect to the right network.

I would change your network's SSID and do the same in your wlan0 profile, so that your SSID isn't confused with other ones.
