I'm mostly wondering if one is more cryptographically secure somehow, and whether or not they can both be used without messing up my ~/.gnupg dir.
I'm brand new to the pgp scene, and I have to say that it is very confusing compared to every other crypto scheme I've dealt with (which is to say luks and otr). There doesn't seem to be any good guide to it all; I've had to piece things together from a half dozen different sources.
