I have to use sometimes Microsoft Word documents in Microsoft Office 2007 format (.docx) (my boss is fan of this format ), but standart version of OpenOffice doesn't support this format and I should ask my partners to convert it to old Word format. But it's uncomfortable. I heard that Sun developed special version of OpenOffice with support Microsoft Office 2007 formats but I didn't find it neither in Arch repos nor in AUR. Where can I find this special version of OpenOffice?

Is it with Microsoft Office 2007 formats support? Have it localization or only English version yet?

Thanks, I can open .docx files now! And old 2.4 version didn't clear it's good too. I will use new version only for opening docx files while it's in development. And I will wait for final release. OpenOffice is great!

openoffice-base-beta is exactly that -- at this time the third beta for OpenOffice 3.0. The dev branch is already moving beyond that feature wise for future releases.
By the way, the current beta seems very stable. I'm hardly a power user, but I haven't had any problems either.

In m4, database files open as read-only. Already filed as a showstopping bug, shich whould delay the release of RC1.
More than that, I have compiled greek language support for it, but so far it just crashes OOo3 at startup in any version starting from beta2.
It seems that it needs quite a bit of work yet, and initial release dates will not be met.
