Hello everyone,
IVe been playing with my new arch setup for a day or two on and off now. Its the first time i've really ventured into the depths of creating my very own fully customised desktop. For the purpose I have chosed openbox as my window manager, xcompmgr for some nice shadows etc and i am currently trying to configure conky correctly. So, I have two parts that I am stuck with.
1) I cannot for the life in me get %P or %p to work with the conky time command, it just doesnt show up. It should show either AM or PM. Could somebody test this for me and see if it is just my arch or is it a problem in general.
2) Can I exclude applications from having shadows, i've posted a screenshot below showing you how conky looks, I basically want it fully transparent.
Thanks in advance!
Jack

Hmm, both %P and %p work for me.
Here's my setup for conky, xcompmgr doesn't put any shadows on it
I think the part in bold is what you need.

Conky displays "am" in this line.

Hello,
Thank you! That seemed to do the trick, however my %p still doesn't work but I can live without it. Im going to start a new thread elsewhere but ill pop the question in here too. Is there a panel which I can assign virtual desktops to? What I want is to have 4 panels and each one is dedicated to a virtual desktop, has anyone seen anything like this before?
Regards,
Jack.

tbh the scroll wheel works perfectly for me. I have three virtual desktops, so every single one is within the reach one another. I don't even have a panel, I just have stalonetray + conky
