IDE to AHCI possible?

I just found out about AHCI in bios. I Changed it and booted up Arch, wouldnt start. My startup (power-on to GRUB) was rougly twice as fast so id like to try it out some more.

Is there an easy way to change from IDE to AHCI drivers?

Re: IDE to AHCI possible?

Need to make sure your initramfs (mkinitcpio) includes and loads ahci.

Also, your devices may change names under ahci, so you'll have to be prepared to deal with that.

My suggestion is to boot with the fallback image (which will include ahci), determine if your partition names are the same, and then edit files as appropriate and then generate a new initcpio with ahci.
