Gnome and xwinwrap; run firefox

I've managed to get xwinwrap up and running with screensavers. Thing is, I've never been a fan of animated desktops. I want to add a HTML page on the desktop.

I've programmed myself a pretty nice php calendar that would look good as a wallpaper. I've also figured out that if I do some magic with prism, I can get a window with only the calendar on a black background. That should be doable to add to the wallpaper with transparency in xwinwrap, but no matter what I pass to xwinwrap of commands, it only opens a new window. How do I get it to stick to the desktop?

Tried devilspie, but everything stopped when I found out there was no way to get the background transparent..

Help?

Re: Gnome and xwinwrap; run firefox

I don't know if conky could handle this, but you could check it out.  Also, nautilus handles the desktop in Gnome.  Maybe you could run a script when you start x that creates a .png image of your html calendar and puts that where nautilus will use it.
