gnome volume control
When I use the media buttons on my Dell Inspiron 640m to change the volume I get weird glitchy behavior. The volume starts to go up but about half way up it resets to zero. It's very odd. Has anyone else experienced this?
In this land of the pain the sane lose not knowing they were part of the game.

The issue has been affecting some users for a bit of time now (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=47784&p=1). A recent patch for gst-plugins-base has been added to the bug report (http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10380) and initial reports seem to be quite positive.
