I was always wondering, why is there an arch linux sub-forum on the ubuntu forum?

I think you'd have to ask them?

Because there are so many registered forum members there that they can have subforums for virtually every other known distro without detracting from ubuntu discussions.
Ubuntu is a stepping stone distro for many, and they become curious about other distros eventually.

People on the UF aren't as apt to yell RTFW!!! at newbs. So there are a lot, A LOT of repeat posts and stuff like that. I used to have a screen shot of 5 topics in a row, all with the exact same topic (well, different but similar titles), and all with 20+ posts in each. I lol'd.

/me recommends a topic change to "Arch linux on ubuntu forums?"

Windows was made for looking at success from a distance through a wall of oversimplicity. Linux removes the wall, so you can just walk up to success and make it your own.

We should have an Ubuntu sub-forum on the Arch Linux forums

@ molom
Not sure, if Ubuntu users need help, they should look for Ubuntu forums. That-s it!

I first heard about Archlinux on the Ubuntu forum and I now run both distros. I use Arch for fun and learning Linux but when I need something done in a hurry and stability is an issue, I turn to Ubuntu. Both have their uses. I've used almost all the distros but these two are the only ones I'm using now and I use both forums...

Hey that's not a bad idea, we can do that and then organize bets like 'how long will it take before someone posts something there' , etc...
A fraction of the money involved goes to Arch of course

As a long-term user of Ubuntu myself, I was captivated by the promise of another distro that grants you a closer look at the internals -- Arch Linux, and I guess it is this that hooks many UF users.

What I love most about the Arch sub forums on other sites is that Arch NEVER gets bashed. Damn near every post is about how awesome they think Arch is. There was one I caught on UF the other day that was a few pages of just posts about how everyone liked Arch better than Ubuntu. It kinda warmed the heart a little

And you ate the whole... wheel of cheese? How'd you do that? Heck, I'm not even mad; that's amazing.
