Hi,
I cannot get my clock to display the right time. In /etc/rc.conf it is set to UTC and the timezone is set to US/Eastern, yet the clock still displays the wrong time (9:12 at the moment, when it is really 19:12). Any ideas how to fix this? I have tried setting the hardwareclock to localtime but it didn't make a difference.

Try installing openntpd, and add it to your daemons list.

You can install ntp and set up a cron script to run hourly or daily:

I installed openntpd and added the daemon but when I rebooted my clock is still displaying the wrong time. I'm so confused!

The wiki is always helpful: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NTP ![]()

Thanks for the link, but I consulted the wiki and it basically says that openntpd should work after being installed, and the one error it cites in troubleshooting did not occur on my system. I tried installing regular old ntp as an alternative but the file does not seem to exist when pacman tries to get it from the repository. I would also really like to just figure out what's wrong here, because I would like my system clock to work as it should :] If you guys can offer any more help I would greatly appreciate it!
EDIT: Nevermind, running the ntpd -s -d command shown in the wiki synced the clock and now it's displaying correct information. Thanks a lot for the help!
