Terminal garbled by resize

The many rapid and semi-random resizes when using a tiling WM is causing many of my terminal applications to become unhappy.

I'm using urxvt. Is there something I should do to make things resize properly?

Re: Terminal garbled by resize

Try with CTRL + L, on most terminals I have used it sets things back into place.

Re: Terminal garbled by resize

Doesn't seem to work, like most things I've tried.

Those include:
- various redraw/resize app-specific commands (like /resize in irssi)
- C-a C-l in screen
- C-l in general
- detaching screen, killing ssh, and restarting everything short of the terminal itself
- turning on the honor hinting option.

checkwinsize is on, as is rxvt's smart resize configure option.

I have also been seeing the same problem and it turns out to be a kernel bug in 2.6.26.  See the following thread:

Oww.. Good to know, I installed Arch on this machine some days ago and had this problem since then. I really thought there might something broken with the config.

Did you upgrade to the latest kernel to fix this problem?

Re: Terminal garbled by resize

Upgrading to kernel 2.6.27 fixed this issue for me.
