Hi,
Question: I hit a (annoying) bug in epiphany, find out that this bug has been resolved upstream in Gnome 2.24 and I can fix it for myself in 2.22 using a patch supplied by upstream. What is the Arch way of fixing this not just for me but for others as well ? Should I create an AUR package with the patch applied ? Do I need to contact the package maintainer and ask if he will incorporate this patch ? Or do we have to manually patch ourselves and wait for gnome 2.24 to come out ?
Some pointers would be nice
Thanks !

The KISS-est way would be to wait for gnome 2.24 to come out

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

The correct way to deal with this is to post a feature request in the bugtracker - this is essentially "contact the package maintainer and ask if he will incorporate this patch", but in a more formal, trackable way. However, you should be aware that the gnome maintainer is more likely to concentrate his efforts on the upcoming new release - in other words, your feature request will be implemented by upgrading to 2.24 when it becomes available.
