I'm trying to install Windows 98 on Virtualbox, but it's not working... Virtualbox complains that no boot medium can be found - apparently my install CD was designed to be booted with the help of a floppy disc. Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have a floppy drive, and I don't have a USB floppy drive or anything available.
Is it possible to somehow point Virtualbox to the necessary files on the CD, so that it boots into the setup program properly?

1.
Get over to a friend and create an image of your floppy.

2. Try out some online available floppy images.

I've never done this before, but can't you just point VB to use one of those images (linked above) for the floppy? I know you can use iso images as CDs with qemu, so I assume you could use floppy images like real floppies with VB. I could also be way off on this one...

Thanks, trying the floppy images now...
Update: it boots from the image, but just hangs after displaying system information.
Update again: got it working with the no-ramdrive image, but can't seem to find where the CD is mounted. Grr.

Dang, those Windows 98 / DOS days were so fun! Computing will never be so fun again
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...
