multimonitor under linux

I've got a dual monitor setup on my windows box, and having recently come across a couple of monitors, I'd like to set one up on my linux box as well. I don't have a dual head card, but I've got a voodoo banshee lying around. The card that's in the box now is a Geforce4 mx440.

I assume I just need to add another card and monitor to my X config and chain them together. Is that correct?

Also, I heard that KDE isn't xinerama-aware. I'm not sure how up-to-date that is, though. Does anyone know if that's still true?

Re: multimonitor under linux

For others' information, the answer to my first question was yes, and the answer to my second question was no.
