X.org 1.5 and xorg.conf

I read somewhere that the new X.org Server will drop xorg.conf . What is the case?

The one in extra (1.4?) doesn't need xorg.conf already, it autoconfigures itself. Of course, one will want a xorg.conf anyway, if one wants to customize the configuration of xorg.

Nothing should change compared to 1.4, you won't need xorg.conf if you don't want to customize.

Well, for one, I'm running 1.5 with xorg.conf.

From what I understand (or IMO?) it does not so much auto-config but "smart default".  Well...anyway I need xorg.conf options myself
