After installing GIMP, it becomes the default application that opens image files, how can I set it to eog? There is no such options in Preferred Applications in System->Preferences

Re: gnome default applications

It's probably set in gconf somewhere.
Download gconf-editor

Re: gnome default applications

Right-click on an image and select Properties.  Click on the Open With tab, and you can set the default application.  You will need to do this for .png, svg, etc.

Edit:  A more elegant solution is to edit the file in your home directory that has mime-types.  Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it.
