[Request] Super Mario Wars

Hi,
SMW is quite a fun game, especially on multiplayer smile

It'd be nice if we had an AUR for it. I'd do it, but I don't know how to, too busy to learn too tongue

Here is where you can download it:
http://forum.72dpiarmy.com/viewforum.php?f=1

Thanks!

Re: [Request] Super Mario Wars

Cool game indeed. I've packaged its latest stable version (1.7) and placed it in the AUR. [link]

If someone could let me know if it compiles successfully on x86_64 that'd be great.

Cheers. smile

Thanks a lot! I will try it now, hopefully 1.8 beta will be packaged when it's out smile

It does work on 32-bit, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, it seems like the file can't be downloaded due to the user's bandwidth being exceeded. That was the official link from smw's website, so I'm not sure there's much we can do.

Ah! I just left a comment on the AUR about it... it would be nice if somebody could upload the zip file somewhere...

Windows was made for looking at success from a distance through a wall of oversimplicity. Linux removes the wall, so you can just walk up to success and make it your own.

Re: [Request] Super Mario Wars

Linux (Slackware 11.0 with gcc/g++ 3.4.6, glibc 2.3.6)
Mirror 1
Mirror 2

Mirror 1 works fine. What you get is a compressed "root filesystem" for the game - you'll get usr, usr/bin, usr/share, etc. I know it's a hack, but you can just copy that usr/ folder to / and it will correctly populate your filesystem with everything. I don't know how to make a PKGBUILD (well I know how to write a PKGBUILD file, I just don't want to know how to make makepkg work etc, I'm not interested in that sort of thing).

After copying, it works absolutely fine here, too - I tested it.

PS. Yes, that mirror is 11k/s, at least it was here. Expect to wait about 10 minutes if you have a fast connection. tongue

Re: [Request] Super Mario Wars

Here's a temporary workaround until the zip file becomes available again. Make sure you have subversion installed and then, from the package directory (where the PKGBUILD lies), do:

mkdir src
svn export -r57 svn://svn.72dpiarmy.com/smw src/smw1.7afe
for i in smw-1.7afe.patch smw.desktop smw.png; do ln -s ../$i src/$i; done
sed -i 's/\r//' smw-1.7afe.patch
makepkg -e

(Revision 57 was chosen based on this topic)
