Is it possible to boot using reiser4?

Can I boot with the following configuration:

sdb1: 64MB ext3 /boot
sdb2: swap
sdb3: 100GB reiser4 /
sdb4: 100GB reiser4 /home

without building a custom kernel?

I have reiser4progs installed.

I don't know of any binary kernel package that supports reiser4, sorry.

100GB for / ??

That's way too much. The upper limit would be 25, and even that would be too much. Try 20...

Re: Is it possible to boot using reiser4?

Sorry, but this is just the same issue with a differently formulated question tongue.

/boot will mount just fine, / and /home won't. And you know why... We already told you.

Maybe the zen kernel has reiser4 support, but I'm not sure at all about that.

What it boils down to - again - is: no drivers in the kernel = file system cannot be mounted.

Re: Is it possible to boot using reiser4?

Actually no it isn't B. It wasn't clear in the other thread whether or not it would mount non-/boot partitions, or if it just needed /boot to be ext3. Anyway, thanks. zen does have kernel support, but that's beside the point.

Anxiously awaiting the day when RFS4 is built into kernel...
