hi, i'm new here and i would like to ask you something that it seems a little starnge to me after the arch installation in my laptop. So, the problem that i'm facing is that when i installed the arch base system from the installer i noticed in a boot screen these two errors:
ERROR: module 'ide[-_]cd' not found
ERROR: module 'firewire[-_]sbp2' not foundbut the next times that i started my system i did not noticed these two error lines to apear again so i felt safe and i did not search it further. However yesterday after a
pacman -Syui had to upgrade my kernel, no prob until now however during the building of the new image i noticed again the previous errors

Not to sound like a complete noob, but what should I do exactly... I am not too comfortable with the kernel, so I am a bit scared. That is why I have a 1000 page book teaching me right now ![]()

It's nothing that can damage you. The bug it's not considered serious, just a little annoyance - it won't compromise your system.

i get the same errors about ide and firewire modules not found whenever i upgrade the kernel.
you say it's just "a little annoyance"; i'm fine with that, but can i expect that IDE and FW drives will work without problems if i ever have that need?
thanks for the clarification

On my system, firewire works perfectly (with the firewire module error during kernel update) ![]()
