XFCE preferred applications settings

Where are these stored ? I remember having a ~/.config/xfce or something like that folder but I can't find it now. Must have deleted it. So, how can I change the default terminal command in XFCE ? (need it for easily open a terminal while in thunar)

Re: XFCE preferred applications settings

can't you just use 'xfce-settings-show' to show the main setting page and select 'Preferred Applications' and choose whatever terminal you want?

Re: XFCE preferred applications settings

Not quite sure what your question is exactly.. but /etc/xdg/xfce4/helpers.rc might be what you're wanting.

If you mean you want the "Open Terminal Here" option in thunar to open a different terminal, you can also go to "Edit" -> "Configure custom actions..." and change the "Open Terminal Here" command to "urxvt %d" or something.

Re: XFCE preferred applications settings

Thanks curve!
I do remember I had that file somewhere in my home dir, but that system-wide one will do fine....
Oh, and I can't use xfce-settings-show since I don't have that installed.

Hmm, while we're at it, do you know of any good file manager that has support for custom actions aside from nautilus ? Wish PCManFM had 'em...

Re: XFCE preferred applications settings

I believe the user copy is  ~/.config/xfce4/helpers.rc, which of course will override the system wide file.

And also Thunar does support custom actions.
