Re: Isn't this really something?

Well, is known that Shuttleworth is currently planing on hiring some people to give Ubuntu Linux Desktop and some other upstream projects a facelift. So we all will benefit from this, hopefully. Even though I don't like Ubuntu and just love Arch Linux, I do hope Ubuntu keeps getting bigger and better.

Re: Isn't this really something?

Even though I use Arch, I will still order ubuntu cd's, because ubuntu is great, even though its way to easy to use....

Is that a hacked GDM ? Looks nice. I didn't like what Fedora 9 did to GDM though....

Pfff... there's a GDM like that - and various others based on that - on gnome-look.org. Take a look.

EDIT:

And even an Arch version I'm using right now:

Fedora did nothing other than what is ususally does - bring the (new) bacon. That is gdm 2.22, and most distros chose to go with 2.20 since 2.22 is currently a rewrite, and missing a few features and the maturity of 2.20.
Take my word for it, gdm >2.22 is going to kick ass, and i imagine it'll be included in most distros by gnome 2.24 (and you'll be able to customize it just like 2.20).

I wasn't saying anything about how it is going to turn out, but rather the state it was in with the Fedora 9 release. I found it awful (although, truth be told, I didn't bother much with it)
