I instaledl arch yesteday, after I enter gnome desktop and click System->Preferences->Apperences, the conig window just splashed and disappeared. who knows the problem? Thanks for your help!

Perhaps you could try running gnome-appearance-properties from a terminal and see what it prints out.

I swirch to xfce4, I found it's cool and faster. It's also a great choice. I just want focus on my work, and I give up to install gnome. I wish quarkup have solved the problom already. If that, tell me why, thanks:-)
