Eclipse gives Error when starting him.

A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK)
must be available in order to run Eclipse. No Java virtual machine
was found after searching the following locations:
/usr/share/eclipse/jre/bin/java
java in your current PATH

I had the same problem as you did..and I tried that out, and it worked for me.

Do you have the file : /etc/profile.d/jre.sh and is it executable?
