How to map custom keyboard shortcuts

Hi,
I have a few extra key on my keyboard for email,sound,calc etc.
they used to work fine in windows & Ubuntu, now when i shifted to archlinux they don't work anymore.
please tell me how to make them work again. i am KDEmod 4.1
