So far so good with having ArchLinux as my dominant OS on my PC. However there are two minor annoyances that have occured. I use Limewire (won't say why) and PuTTY, but neither show up under Applications->Internet in Gnome. I made an icon for PuTTY and the icon is the springboard. Any ideas on where the icons are?

Not sure -- but if you right click on the menu, you should be able to choose "edit menu" (if not, try installing alacarte and try again). From there you should be able to add entries to the menu. If you want to use the specific icon that came with the program, IIRC most icons are stored in /usr/share/pixmaps
hope this helps

All right I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
[Edit]
With the menu editor I can't really do anything. Alls I can do is hide/show shortcuts, I can't edit or delete.

That's the way things act when alacarte is not installed. Are you sure it's installed?

What's the right procedure for these kinds of matters when a package is in core/extra/community? It happens while after another so should I in such a case directly send an email to the maintainer?
(I've no problem with it since it's easy to make *.dekstop files, but I suppose a package is expected to be installed with one.)

I installed alacarte, but I still can't find the icons for Limewire or PuTTY.
