It seems that a recent update has lowered my sound levels. Alsamixer reports that they're still the same, but many programs are suddenly really quiet. Youtube Flash videos and VirtualBox are the biggest offenders. I changed the sound in VBox to PulseAudio and now it's much better, but I don't know what to do about Flash.
Is this something that changed for everyone or is it just my system? How can I fix it?
Ask and I'll provide more details....
I'm using snd-hda-intel.

dvdtube - download all uploads from a YouTube user and then optionally create a DVD.

Probably need to specify options.
Improve your desktop responsiveness and font rendering and ALSA sound and BusyBox init

Rebooted and alsamixer was showing pcm to be at ~30 instead of 97. Odd.....
It was definitely set at 97 before I rebooted. It's better now, though. I ran alsactl store just to be safe.
