I'm brand new to Arch, just installed it. After installing GNOME, everything started going downhill, so I figured there was some problem during the install, so I tried to reinstall it.
When reinstalling gnome (using "sudo pacman -S gnome"), I get this error:
(17/20) upgrading gnome-volume-manager 100%
/tmp/alpm_T8N9W8/.INSTALL: line 17: gconfpkg: command not found
(18/20) upgrading yelp
/tmp/alpm_W5hWvF/.INSTALL: line 4: gconfpkg: command not found
The rest of the packages are fine and have no errors.
This also happens when I try to install ndiswrapper (using sudo pacman -S ndiswrapper).
It gives the same type of message, except it says "ndiswrapper: command not found" after the /tmp/.../.INSTALL
Currently, when I log into gnome, about half the time nautilus will crash right away.
Earlier both the panel and nautilus crashed, but I followed the directions on the gnome wiki to fix the panel problem.
Could this be a corrupt install cd?
the burning software I used did not give me a speed option, so I'm thinking it might have done max speed.
--------------
I'm going to try reburning at 4x, and then reinstalling (probably later tomorrow). If someone has a suggestion in the meantime, that would be cool.
---------------
Reburned at 4x. Reinstalled Arch. Everything is great now.
Looks like I didn't need to even post in the first place >.<
