dvd ripping 64 bit
is there any software that exists for ripping dvds that will take advantage of my 64 bit os? one of the main reasons i decided to install 64 bit arch was because i read somewhere that i would be able to encode audio/video faster.

Being compiled for 64-bit in the first place helps confer a noticeable benefit. Build it yourself optimized all the more for your system through abs for even more improvement.
