Hello there,
I have got a problem with my flashplugin for Firefox 3. I know this topic has already been widely discussed, but none of the notes in the wiki or on the forums (talking about those I found of course ) did improve the situation.
chmod 755 /usr/lib/mozilla/ and the same for the plugins folder didn't help. about:plugins states that there actually is no plugin installed. As shown here, this is not true. How can I convince Firefox of the opposite?
[lama@zen ~]$ ls -lR /usr/lib/mozilla/
/usr/lib/mozilla/:
total 4

No, i686 32-Bit, system is up to date.
I fixed some other issues I had with my system in the meantime, but I still have no clue why flash is not working.

I just tried to fix the problem by installing the ttf-ms-fonts-package. The idea was to prevent flash from not-working due to visual-erros, but since the plugin is not even recognized by FF, it was no use of course.
It seems somewhat strange to me that there are only two machines where it doesn't work o.0
As said, system is up to date, installed yesterday. Could it be a kernel issue/dependency? Flash used to work on other GNU/Linux-distros and NT-based systems.

what permission have /usr/lib/mozilla ? should be 755
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

It is, wrote it in my first post
EDIT: Just checked about:plugins again. Flash is now listed there. I did not change anything o.0
Shockwave Flash
File name: libflashplayer.so
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124
MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf Yes
application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl Yes
I don't believe flash depends on a reboot, does ist? Just tested some flash-sites, works well.
Well, the problem is solved, but I don't really know why it didn't work in the first place. I wish I could help anybody with the same problem, but I do not know why it works now. I did not run any command besides scripting a bit with wxPython (which has absolutely nothing to do with flash). Well, I guess I should just smile and be happy.
Thanks, anyone

make a link to the flashplugin in .mozilla

Yes, I made several reboots. I use i686.
I've made symlink to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins in ~/.mozilla and it works.
ln -s /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ~/.mozilla/plugins
Thanks for help.
