KDE 4 add binary plasmoid?

Hello,

How would one install a binary plasmoid (.so)? There are instructions for building from source, but this is bugging me.

Thanks smile

Re: KDE 4 add binary plasmoid?

Can you not do it from the Add Widgets dialog? There is an Install New Widgets button at the bottom and options to install from a local file or download from the internet. When installing from a local file you have to select the widget type (Plasmoid) and it lets you browse your file system.

Re: KDE 4 add binary plasmoid?

I would like very much to see a way to install a binary plasmoid locally (into my $HOME/.kde4 dir somewhere). I googled for it for about an hour, but perhaps my google skills are deteriorating with age wink

So far, I was able only to do the usual "cmake ... make install" installation into /usr/lib/kde4. Or using one of the packages in AUR.
